The truth is that, unless you are an influencer with a very high engagement rate and tremendous following... if you use the big hashtags, no one will see your posts because when people go to see what's under that tag, the content with more views and engagement is what appears on top.
You don't want to compete with millions but you also don't wnat to use hashtags almost no one is using.

Add a couple of the big ones and add 5-10 more with a good mix between generic content related to your account and specific content related to that particular post.
